Continuous Care Never Stops: Taoyuan Veterans Service Office Strengthens Front-Line Epidemic Prevention Equipment
[Reporter Lin Fu-Kuei / Taoyuan] With the national Level 3 alert extended to June 28, the Taoyuan City Veterans Service Office, in order to maintain its service capacity and strengthen its epidemic prevention capabilities, received a donation of 200 protective face shields and 10,000 face masks from Kung Hsing Plastic Machinery Co., Ltd., coordinated by Rongxin volunteer captain Ms. Wang Hsiu-Hui. This gave the office's staff and volunteers extra protection while on duty, ensuring uninterrupted service.
During the pandemic, all staff and volunteers of the Taoyuan Veterans Service Office upheld the principle of "uninterrupted service": counter services continued as usual, while elderly veterans living alone or with low income in the district needed extra care. To strengthen the office's service and epidemic-prevention capacity, volunteer captain Wang Hsiu-Hui, together with Kung Hsing Plastic Machinery Co., Ltd., donated a batch of face shields and masks on June 10 to veterans' families and front-line staff. Young volunteers, students Tsai and Yang, also assisted at the donation ceremony, saying they were glad to help however modestly amid the severe epidemic situation.
Taoyuan Veterans Service Office director Hsu Wei-Kuang expressed gratitude to captain Wang, the young volunteers, and the company for their caring efforts, presenting them with certificates of appreciation. The Rongxin volunteer captain has long combined local resources with social welfare organizations to care for veterans and their families in the district. In addition to donating 10,000 masks with a kind-hearted company back in February this year, this time, in response to domestic COVID-19 prevention needs, face shields and masks were provided to veterans' families and front-line staff to strengthen protective capacity and reduce infection risk, upholding the principle of "uninterrupted care and service for veterans (and their families)" and wholeheartedly safeguarding the safety of retired servicemen and their families in the Taoyuan area. Everyone was also called on to face the hardship together, as epidemic prevention is everyone's responsibility — to strengthen self-protection, actively cooperate with all prevention measures, and jointly overcome this difficult period.
